| The National Wildlife Federation's Commitment to Diversity
Strength comes from diversity, both in the natural and human worlds. The National Wildlife Federation engages diverse audiences in our conservation work.
The mission of the National Wildlife Federation is to inspire Americans to protect wildlife for our children's future.
Our role is to bring diverse people together in support of this goal and to give them the knowledge, the tools and the help they need to build a better future.
Diversity is essential to the mission of NWF. Just as natural habitats are strengthened by a diversity of organisms of all shapes and sizes, so too does NWF rely on a wide network of people to support its conservation work. NWF's supporters — be they donors, members, activists, customers, volunteers or employees — come from all areas of the country and all walks of life.
Our diverse supporters help further this mission by:
- turning their backyards into suitable habitat for wildlife,
- cleaning and restoring local habitat,
- making their homes greener,
and
- speaking in the halls of Congress in support of conservation measures
Progress can also be seen on NWF's Board of Directors, including NWF's first woman chair and the first African American chair elect. Stay tuned for upcoming profiles on Board members, volunteers, affiliates and other diverse NWF supporters!
