Colored Lace
Did you know the flower called Queen Anne's lace will absorb color if you put it in a pitcher of colored water?
Materials
  • Containers
  • Food coloring
  • Queen Anne's Lace
Steps
Step 1
Gather your flowers

Take a walk around the yard and gather several Queen Anne's Lace flowers.

Step 2
Fill containers
Fill several containers with water.
Step 3
Add food coloring
Dye the water in each container with a different color of food coloring.
Step 4
Add flowers
Place some Queen Anne's Lace in each container.
Step 5
Watch for Results!

How long did it take for the colored water to travel up the stem and color the flowers?
