Make ocean scenes with simple cardboard stencils.
Materials
- Thin cardboard (An old file folder works well.)
- Tempera paint
- Paper
- Ocean animal stencils pattern
- Scissors
- Sponge
- Tape
Steps
Cut Out StencilsCut out the four squares on the pattern. Tape each square to a piece of cardboard. Cut along the dots until you reach the dashed line. Then cut along the dashed line to make your stencils. Tape the area where you cut the dotted line so your stencil has a solid outline.
Paint With Your StencilsPlace the stencils on a piece of blank paper. Show your child how to dip the sponge in paint and use it to dab the inside of the stencil.
