Chill Out: Campus Solutions to Global Warming

What is your campus doing to help solve the global warming crisis?

From clean energy to habitat restoration to awareness campaigns, describe these solutions to the National Wildlife Federation in 500 words or less by November 30, 2008 and you will be eligible to win prizes including GRANT MONEY for your campus group and a feature in Chill Out Campus Solutions to Global Warming, a multimedia Earth Day broadcast in April.

**Deadline: November 30, 2008**

1. Complete the entry form:

2. Submit in 500 words or fewer details of the project * , including:

  • How is this project helping your campus reduce its greenhouse gas emissions?
  • How many metric tons of CO2 and other greenhouse gases is the project reducing annually?
  • Is the campus saving any money? If so, how much annually and since the project was started?
  • What percent of total campus emissions has been reduced?
  • How many people are working on the project, and who are they? (Eg., sponsoring group or department, administration, faculty, students, staff, etc.)
  • How long has the project been underway and what plans are there to institutionalize it (if it hasn't been already)?
  • Provide examples of the compelling visuals that would help tell your story on camera.
  • How is the project providing outreach or education to the campus, peer campuses or the community on global warming and the need for action?
  • Has your project received any press (whether on campus, local, or national)? If so, please explain.

MEMBERSHIP IS NOT NECESSARY TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS CONTEST. This Contest is open only to residents of the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico), who are 18 years of age or older. The Contest begins on September 1, 2008 and ends on November 30, 2008. Entries must be received between Midnight, Pacific Standard Time (PST), September 1, 2008 and 11:59 p.m. PST, November 30, 2008. To enter register at http://www.nwf.org/campusecology. Contest winners will be chosen based on the listed criteria. Complete official rules may be obtained on http://www.nwf.org/chillout. VOID IN PUERTO RICO AND WHERE PROHIBITED BY LAW. Participants agree that, if selected as a winner, the participant will help the contest hosts secure appropriate information and video footage for the broadcast.
