Lynx Lynx Range Map

Once a vital part of the natural landscape throughout forests in Michigan, Wisconsin and Minnesota, the graceful and mysterious Canada lynx is now threatened in much of its range. While lynx populations remain healthy in much of northern Canada and Alaska, lynx populations in southern Canada and the U.S. are in decline: only a sparse number now exist in parts of New England and the western United States. The current status of lynx in the Great Lakes region, where they were once present, is unknown. Learn more about the lynx around the United States.
