  • Empty round oatmeal container
  • Black and red craft foam
  • Glue
  • 2 extra large googly eyes
  • Hole punch
  • Ribbons - around 8, each a few feet long
  • Scissors
  • String or elastic cord
Prepare an oatmeal container

Remove the lid and bottom from the oatmeal container.

Cut a piece of black craft foam large enough to cover the outside of the container. Wrap it around the container and glue it in place.

Make the ladybug wings
Cut a 9" circle from the red craft foam. Cut the circle in half and glue each piece to the container, as shown. Cut small black craft-foam circles and glue on to make spots.
Make the ladybug head
Cut a half-circle from black craft foam about 4" wide and glue it to the top of the container, as shown. Glue on the wiggle eyes.
Decorate with ribbons
Cut the ribbon into strips about 24" long and glue them inside the bottom end of the container.
Hang up your windsock
Punch four evenly spaced holes around the top of the container. At each hole, thread and knot a piece of string or elastic cord. Then tie the loose ends together in a knot at the top.
