Bat Fingerpuppets
What You Need:
· construction paper
· scissors
· marker
What You Do:
Trace your toddler's hands on a piece of construction paper. Cut
out the hand shapes WITHOUT going all the way down the fingers. (You
may want to sketch in how the fingers connect before you start cutting.)
These will be the bat's wings. |
Cut a circle from the construction paper. Hint: To make a perfect
circle, trace around the rim of a cup. Put the 2 hands together at
the "wrist" and glue or tape the circle on top of the wings. |
Cut 2 triangles for the ears, and 1 small triangle for the nose.
Glue them on the head. When you are done, draw eyes and a mouth for
your bat. |
To turn the bat into a fingerpuppet, cut a strip of paper about
1 1/2 inches tall and 4 inches long. Tape the ends together to make
a loop. Press one of the open ends closed and tape it shut. Now tape
the loop to the back of the bat, with the open end facing downward.
Encourage your child to stick his/her fingers in the loop and flap,
flap, flap away! |
