Eric Palola, Executive Director, Wildlife Restoration, Montpelier, VT
For ten years, Palola directed NWF’s northeast regional office based in Vermont where he supervised staff and programs in water quality, forest restoration, wildlife conservation, and environmental education. He is a forest policy and economics expert. Palola serves as a member of the international Board of Directors of the Forest Stewardship Council, and is current Chair of the Northern Forest Alliance, a broad-based forest conservation coalition. He worked previously as a project manager for a private renewable energy firm, as a policy analyst at US EPA, and as Associate Director for the Vermont Natural Resources Council. Palola has degrees in natural resource economics and public policy from the University of Vermont and Harvard University.
