Loxahatchee River, Florida
Paddling down the Loxahatchee River I heard a barred owl calling out to its mate. Finally seeing the owl perched high atop an old growth cypress I slowly set up my camera along the bank. I decided not to use a long lens because I wanted a different kind of image that I haven't seen before, one with the landscape and this magnificent owl calling from on high. I used a slow shutter speed to smooth out the water and fortunately, the owl stayed still long enough for this frame.
