I will be the first one to admit that more luck went into this capture than skill. After over two hours in the field waiting for and stalking this Kestral, I gave up! Headed back to my car at the parking lot. Got into my car and began to pull out of the lot. Then, incredibly, right in from of me was this male Kestral on the fence post. I stopped and lifted my camera which was on my lap and began shooting away. I expected him to fly away, but he did not. I then thought he had an injured foot since I could not see his right foot. Then, the bird turns around with this partially eaten vole in his talon. Absolutely incredible. What a day!
