Wakulla River, FL
While on a boat ride down the Wakulla River we noticed this Blue Heron stabbing at something on the river bank so we got a little closer to get a better view and saw that it was a large bass. If you look closely you can see a large stab wound on the back of the fish as the heron holds it up with his beak all the way through the upper part of the fish. A little bit of sunlight broke through the trees and highlighted the fins. We did not stay to see if the heron ever managed to swallow the large fish.
