Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge, Long Meadow Lake
A mild, late fall day, and the feeders at the MVNWR trailhead were well-populated with cardinals, chickadees, and woodpeckers. No sooner did I manage to get a single bird in focus than another would fly in and disrupt the shot. Just as I was about to leave, this finch (an orange morph, or a juvenile, by his coloring) landed on the nearest feeder, unaccompanied. Et voila!
Slight exposure adjustment, sharpened and cropped. Photoshop Elements 9.
