During an unexpected snow storm, January 2012, I was in my backyard when my spouse spotted this eagle in a tree 50 yards from us in our backyard. I ran into the house to get my camera and quickly took three photos, each at different zoom levels. This one turned out the best. I posted it on Facebook at our local newspaper's page and within 3 days it had been shared over 2000 times. For some reason, this photo strikes a chord in people. I like the eagle is sitting in the one visibly open spot, framed beautifully by the tangle of snow-filled branches.
A little enhancement to the midtone, slight enhancement to the color so the eagle's beak is more yellow, slight increase in the brightness.
