Ding Darling Wildlife Refuge - Sanibel, FL
I was attracted to these small brown birds which ran along the shore. I loved the intricate patterns in their wing feathers. They are beautiful birds who frequently don't even get noticed. There were all kinds of birds there that day. At the end of the road, I got out to take a break and walk on the boardwalk. Another couple stopped when I did, and the other woman was complaining about how they were disappointed because they hadn't seen anything that day. Somehow she'd missed not only these little gems, but other large birds as well.
