Henry Vilas Zoo, Madison, Wisconsin
On a 19 degree, blistery day, we visited the Henry Vilas Zoo near our home. Because of the weather, most of the animals were not out, and so my camera had not been touched for most of the trip. However, upon arriving at the tropical section to thaw, we found this beautiful macaw along with a few of his friends. I broke out my camera and took some pictures of this bird while my fingers were gradually thawing. The birds did not want to get their pictures taken and gave me a very hard time. When I was getting ready to leave (we had all warmed up) I decided to try and get one good picture of the macaw. He finally turned around, and this was the last picture I snapped that day.
