Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming
I was up in the Tetons last fall with a friend and we decided to go up to Yellowstone just for the day. Most of the photographers there were saying that there was very little action as it was too hot. In fact, we did not take a single image until about 3 pm. We were on our way back south, when I decided that we should head up the road from Canyon as far as we could before the road was closed. At first, there was a Coyote on the kill, but then this 2-year-old black female Wolf showed up and chased off the Coyote. I was ecstatic! This was almost a full frame image and I had never been that close to a Wolf before. She had her head down most of the time feeding, but when she looked up with her beautiful golden eyes, I was SO happy!
