San Clemente, California
This shot of tall California Palms was taken at night during a clearing of a winter rainstorm. I set out to the coastal area of San Clemente in the last light of the day to capture evening ambient and dramatic lighted images. Being in the outdoors so often, I know exactly when to head out, while it is still pouring, and as the wind starts to pick up. This shot was taken about 15 minutes after the rain stopped and evidence of clearing in the sky had begun. Shooting in dark ambient light made the trees stand out by reflecting the yellow hue of nearby street lights and the movement created by the wind gave the blurred painted affect in the trees and sky with the long shutter speeds.
