Butka Russkaya, Kamchatka, Russia
This was the last day of a trip to the Okhotsk Sea in east Russia. The weather was cloudy, cool and drizzly. We stopped for a last landing at the mouth of the river Russkaya. The land was flat with only a few trees. There was some forest nearby, but since we were in bear country, the forest was off limits. I noticed some yellow wagtails flying around. I observed that one seemed to land on this particular tree. I set up my tripod and waited. The bird landed several times but was always scared off by someone else from the group approaching. Finally it landed and I was able to get off a few shots.
