Guanacaste National Park, Costa Rica
While traveling up the river on a boat, I had my 300mm lens mounted on a tripod on the front of the boat, and we were lucky enough to run into this little guy sitting almost perfectly posed on a beautifully illuminated (and textured) log with the absolute darkness of the forest behind him. Even with a medium format digital cameras dynamic range the darkness behind this Iguana was too contrasty for it to register which resulted in the beautiful contrast in lighting in this image.
