Rocky Mountain National Park
Contemplating a peaceful vista in Rocky Mountain NP, I was startled by a loud crashing in the bushes behind me, and whirled around to see a yearling moose charging towards me with bristling hair, bulging eyes, and mouth gaping in what could only be described as a goofy grin. I hardly knew whether to run away in fear or to fall over laughing; and indeed, the sneak attack turned out to be a mock charge, with the young moose stopping a few yards away, and retreating to the protection of his mother, who came running to his rescue. Why I didn't laugh can be seen in the accompanying photo of his mother's warning to me.
