Harns Marsh, Lehigh Acres, Florida
I was working a series of different birds in my favorite marsh one morning, and this Tricolored Heron began hunting at extremely close range. I decided to try and get a portrait image of him trying to capture fish. When I looked at the images later, I really liked this one of a "miss". The water suspended in mid air just made this image for me. I had been lying in the mud at the water's edge for over two hours before this bird became so acclimated to my presence, that he moved in very close.
Crop, Straighten, slight color adjustment, noise reduction on background only, slight sharpening on bird only.
