Lake Shasta, CA
When we first encountered these goslings, they were with their parents and were of course approaching us because we had food. I immediately looked up what they were, because their parents were not the normal size of a Canadian Goose. I was shocked to find out we actually have geese similar, but their size is smaller and the white ring around their neck is not on the neck, but under their head. Similar pattern, but just slightly altered. The goslings wanted the bread we were throwing, but the parents kept getting in the way. Eventually I was able to get them a few pieces.
I used instagram to increase contrast. This brought out the contrast and also changed the depth of color to increase reflection in the water as well as accentuate the feathers and other details of the goslings.
