my yard, Cohoes, NY (suburban upstate NY)
I have retired on disability, and am caregiver for my elderly mother, who lives with me and suffers from dementia, so I can't venture very far these days to photograph wildlife and scenic beauty. Instead, I focus on discovering the amazing little creatures living in my own suburban back yard, and featuring the landscaping I've planted over the years to create more natural wildlife habitat in my private wildlife “sanctuary.” This bright green grasshopper landed on beautiful daylily, creating a strikingly lovely photo of contrasting colors.
This photo was cropped, the brightness and contrast adjusted, the sharpness slightly increased, and minimal additional color saturation was applied.
