Eastern Finland, The Taiga Forest
While on vacation in the Taiga Forest, we waited patiently in specially designed hides for the bears to come out. We stayed in the hides from 7pm to 7am. Then slept by day in back at the lodge. Light was a challenge but this late in the summer, the lattitude is high enough so the sun never truly sets. One night we got lucky and this young, adolescent, cuddly guy stepped out into our view. He posed for a few moments and then disappeared back into the forest.
