Ancapa Island, CA
I was diving off Anacapa Island on the best visibility day ever. Out with a group of photographers there were a bunch of people in the water, checking holes, and looking for that great shot. As I headed back to the boat at the end of the dive a huge lobster shot up from the seafloor, possibly spooked by someone or something below. He clung to the kelp ahead of me, offering a fantastic, colorful composition with a subject in a setting you never see them.
