Anchor Point Beach on Alaska’s Kenai Peninsula
Eagles in Paradise
Dozens of eagles lined the beach and coastline in Anchor Point, Alaska. I was with Alaska photographer Carol Lahnum on Anchor Point Beach along the Cook Inlet coast. A volcano on the other side of the sea serves as the natural backdrop of this photograph. I crawled, inching closer and closer to this eagle on the beach who is sitting on a piece of fish. The eagle is protecting its food and vocalizing to two ravens that are not in the frame of my composition. Additionally, I was also trying to capture the eagles flying down the beach in the direction of Homer to add to my shot.
