Pickering Beach, Delaware
This spring I visited the shores of Delaware Bay to photograph the annual Atlantic Horseshoe Crab spawning ritual and the corresponding migratory bird activity. The spawning is at its peak during the high tides of the full at the end of May, so I timed my visit to correspond with the lunar cycle. After photographing the crabs all night on the beach, I was treated to this full moon setting behind the beach grasses at dawn.
