Chatfield State Park, Colorado
While hiking one day looking for birds to photograph, I spotted movement out of the corner of my eye. It turned out to be a female Broad tail starting the process of making a nest. Returning to the spot on almost a daily basis to record and observe the event, I took photos of the entire process.... the laying of the eggs, the first day of feeding after hatching, and this photo, one of the last feedings the day the young fledged. I returned the next day to find an empty nest.
