Wild Bachelor Mustangs On Parade
Photographer: Patrick F. Brennan Jr.
Location: Sand Wash Basin In NW Colorado
This group of young bachelor wild Mustangs have been pushed out of the family band by the lead stallion about the time they get to be around two years old. They sometimes gather in groups to hang out until they become strong enough and confident enough to battle an older more established stallions for one of his mares or several; so the young stallion can start his own family band in the wild. These young Mustangs make a great picture with a storm sky in the background that is just about to get us all very wet. I had previously just snapped a couple of pictures of two of these Mustangs fighting.
