Lakota Wolf Preserve in Columbia, NJ
At 5 o'clock SHARP on a frigid morning in March of this year, an Academy Bus pulled out of a parking lot in Bricktown NJ, with me and 27 other exhausted photographers and headed north toward the mountains of the Delaware Water Gap where the Lakota wolf Preserve is located, about two and a half hours away. The Preserve has four large enclosures to house the different types of wolves residing there and two smaller ones for some foxes and bobcats. There are numerous portals cut in the fencing, about 10 inches high and 3 feet long, and they provide unobstructed views of all the animals.
