Nurse Shark and Diver
Photographer: Jeffrey Haines
Location: Bimini Bahamas
Sharks have been portrayed as mindless killing machines only interested in their next meal. In reality they are shy predators and very careful in selecting the prey animals their species has evolved to feed on. Humans are not on the menu. This nurse shark has approached the diver out of what appears to be curiosity, temporarily ignoring a nearby crate of tasty fish parts to investigate the strange visitor to its home.
