Tiger Shark and Photographer
Photographer: Jeffrey Haines
Location: Bimini Bahamas
Tiger sharks are powerful apex predators at the top of the ocean food chain. Often portrayed as vicious man-eaters they are in reality cautious predators, not at all interested in seeking out humans as prey. In order to get these shy animals to approach us, it was necessary to use fish as bait. Even with fish blood in the water this tiger shark approaches the photographer calmly, displaying no interest in attacking.
