Caribbean Reef Shark
Photographer: Jeffrey Haines
Location: Bimini Bahamas
Story:
When taking photos underwater you must get very close to your subject. You can’t use a zoom lens to fill the frame with a distant subject because you lose too much detail and contrast on a subject beyond six feet or so away. This Caribbean Reef Shark is passing by about 3 feet away from me.
Digital Alterations:
Minor adjustments to white balance, contrast, sharpening and vibrace. Lens correction for fish eye and crop applied with some minor spot removal.
Camera Information: Nikon D7000 with a Tokina 10-17mm fisheye lens inside a Nauticam underwater housing with 2 Sea & Sea underwater strobes.
