Miranda River, Pantanal, Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil
When I visited the Pantanal which is a huge wetland area in the center of South America, not as famous as the Amazon but incredibly rich in wildlife, I was very lucky. During a boat trip at the Miranda river, Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil, we spotted a jaguar. These beautiful animals are nocturnal and for that reason extremely difficult to spot by daylight. Well, this female had decided to change her schedule to drink some water when we suddenly turned up. She was not really worried and even gave us a minute or so to get some decent shots before disappearing in the bush. What a moment! To come face to face with such a beautiful animal is an incredible experience.
