Dozing New Bay Wild Mustang
Photographer: Patrick F. Brennan Jr.
Location: Sand Wash Basin in NW Colorado
Story:
This is a two to three week old baby filly wild Mustang that I noticed was starting to nod off in the warm morning sun. He mother and the bands other mares are standing by close in a semi-circle - you can see their legs in the background, There are several different family bands at the waterhole and once the stallions settle down from doing their macho thing-sometimes a scrap or two- they all settle in and relax after taking water. And for a while peace settles in on the range for the wild Mustangs.
