Location: Harriman State Park
With the National Parks closed last fall, I headed to a state park hoping to find some elk bugling. I arrived before sunrise and headed to the river and the sound of elk. The elk were in thick brush but as I set up to capture the sunrise, I noticed this mink. I managed a few images that trip. I went back the next weekend and watched it scamper across the ice, dive down and bring something back into the rocks along the shore. I didn’t realize until I saw the photos that it was catching crayfish.
