Kaikoura, South Island, New Zealand
As soon as the Cape Petrels (Daption capense) of Kaikoura see a boat they start following it, hoping for some fish to be discarded. In characteristic seabird fashion, they undulate their flight, gliding high above the water and subsequently swooping down to the water's surface. Using a slower shutter speed and panning with this pair, their movement becomes apparent. Photographed on the South Island of New Zealand.
