Denali National Park, Alaska
For the last 24 years I have been a visitor to Denali National Park wilderness. On one of my many shuttle trips into the park I spotted this sleeping bear as we rounded the curve at about mile 55. Apparently, he had been chasing his prey, which dug into the ground. Worn out from his digging quest, the bear took a nap by the road. Our shuttle driver accidentally hit the horn, but the bear did not move. Guess the grizzly was getting an early start on his winter hibernation!
Slight adjustments were made to the color, contrast, and brightness. The photo was cropped.
