Vitelline Masked Weaver
Photographer: Marian Herz
Location: Ndutu area Tanzania
Story:
It was lunch time and since there was no electricity in the middle of the day, I decided to look for more photo opportunities while wandering around the lodge grounds. I found a weaver improving his nest. He would bring some grass to the nest and weave it in. He then would go to this branch and sing - I imagine to attract a female. He then would do "gymnastics". Several times he hung from the branch and stick his head through his legs. It reminded me of some moves the male gymnasts do on the rings.
