Black-necked Stilt
Photographer: Ron Bielefeld
Location: East Central Florida
Story:
I positioned myself in the tall vegetation along the edge of a very shallow wetland where I had watched stilts feeding the evening before. I was dressed in full camo. I waited until just after sunrise when the stilts started to fly in. It turned out to be a morning with absolutely no wind, so the water was like glass the the color reflected very nicely. I was able to take advantage of these conditions to capture this image of a stilt just as it was about to place its foot back in the water.
