Dolphin
Photographer: Sue Dillon
Location: British Virgin Islands
Story:
I was sitting on the sailboat when I saw this fin on the water surface heading into the harbor where we were moored. The dolphin had passed the boat and was making a turn to leave. I grabbed my camera and slipped into the water to swim ahead and in parallel, just hoping that he would be as curious as I was to get close enough for a shot. I was ecstatic when he swam right beside me for a moment to stare. Not a great photo, but a moment worth sharing. What a special personal encounter. He then, of course, left me in his wake.
