Yellowstone River, MT
I was hiking up the gravel banks of the lower Yellowstone River fly fishing for small mouth bass when I heard a strange buzzing noise at my feet. Thinking it was a rattlesnake, I stepped back and realized it was a bright green Cicada on a piece of cottonwood bark. I held up the piece of bark so the river was in the background and took several shots.
I sharpened and cropped the photo.
