Neka Bay, Southeast Alaska
I was out photographing whales from an Allen Marine whale watching boat of Hoonah, Alaska when we came upon a pod of killer whales. The backlighting illuminates the killer whale's exhalation. The flat calm water reflecting the spruce trees of the Tongass National Forest puts this ocean mammal in the forest as well as the pristine waters of Southeast Alaska.
