Sea Lion Island in the Falklands
January is a great time for viewing penguin babies in the Falklands. There was a group of Gentoo penguins outside the Sea Lion Lodge with chicks ranging from a couple of months to 6 months old. I sat and waited for these 2 chicks to appear from underneath their mother. After about 20 minutes, I was rewarded when both of them came out and surveyed their environment for about a minute before ducking back into their mother, probably for warmth. It was cold that day! Taken on 1/22/14.
Cropping, exposure compensation, vibrance, clarity and saturation enhanced.
