Kirtlands Warbler
Photographer: Nick Eddy
Location: Northern Michigan
The Kirtlands Warbler is considered a near threatened species. It nests mainly in Northern Michigan. We went to find them in the tracts managed for this bird to replicate their natural young jack pine habitat caused by forest fires. The birds were singing, but hard to see for long enough to take a photo. While plentiful in those habitat tracts, we don't see them nest outside of them.
