Families enjoying an old lavatube cave
Photographer: Tim Ferry
Location: Craters of the Moon National Monument, Idaho
Story:
The amazing volcanic landscape of this region has been transformed into a moonscape, like the name of the national monument implies. Huge volcanic cones and lava fields are grooved into the earth here. Old lava tubes have now become huge caves, like this photo, which shows families out and about enjoying the natural beauty of an underground adventure.
