St. Augustine Alligator Farm, FL
After photographing wild birds in the rookery at the St. Augustine Alligator Farm, I found this captive Macaw in a busy part of the zoo. The closest that I can focus with my digiscoping system is 11', and I had to back up as far as the surroundings would allow to get him in focus. Digiscoped with the camera set on manual focus and all focusing done with the scope.
Color adjustment in Camera Raw, noise reduction, sharpening; only very slightly cropped.
Digiscoped using a Panasonic DMC-GH3 with the 20mm/1.7 lens, mounted on a Swarovski STX85 spotting scope with the DCB II adapter and Rail II; Manfrotto 502 head and RRS TVC-33 legs with leveling base.
