Moonglow Dairy, Moss Landing, California
In May 2014 my wife and I drove to Moss Landing to photograph herons, egrets and cormorants at a large rookery on private land. There were hundreds of individual birds, and plenty of activity, including adults bringing in food to the nests and feeding their young. Here, two of the three youngsters in the nest are practicing their swordplay while waiting for a parent to return for their next feeding.
