Kent Island, Queene Anne's County, MD, USA
I was walking on a trail through the woods on Kent Island near the Bay Bridge. My purpose for being was to find and take photos of a Blue Jay's nest, which I had seen on a previous visit. However, as I was walking along, I was startled by a doe and 8-point buck that suddenly crossed my path, nearly knocking me down. With camera in hand I immediately gave chase in hope of getting some photos. Unfortunately, the woods' undergrowth, especially the piercing thorn bushes made it too uncomfortable to further pursue the deer. After turning around and taking a few steps back to the trail, I turned around to see the young buck starring at me through a hole in the trees and brush. Sunlight illuminated his face to show the curiosity in his eyes.
