Sequoias Past and Present
Photographer: Laura DiLallo
Location: Sequoia National Park, CA
While taking shelter from the rain in a fallen sequoia, this view out a hole in its bark struck me as fascinating since you would never know by looking at them from this angle that these trees were so incredibly massive and old. The human carvings in its bark only proved their age back to the mid1800s, but these gentle giants have seen much in their quiet centuries of life.
